1. What is grid-type fill?
A set of injection-molded PP (polypropylene) plastic grids, assembled in blocks.
It works as a contact/splash fill: the water falls in droplets, hits the grids, fragments, and remains in contact with the air for a longer time.
2. Main applications
Alpina water cooling towers (general industrial, HVAC, steelmaking, chemical, food, etc.).
3. When does it make sense to use grid-type fill?
When the water is clean or has a moderate level of dirt. In cases of consistently clean water, high-performance AMG fill is used; in cases of heavy dirt, BRT or AMG Tray fill is used.
Possibility of hydro-jetting without destroying the fill.
